Penclic Corded Mini Keyboard C2 Revier

Keyboards are quickly becoming a thing we use in everyday life, either at work, at home, or even on your phone, you use a keyboard every day. Something you use every day has to be comfortable and easy to use, and today I’m seeing if the Penclic Corded Mini Keyboard can do just that. So read on to see how the £45 piece of kit coming out of Sweden fairs up.

Design:
The first thing you notice of course is the size, it’s small. Of course, what would you expect from a “mini” keyboard, but coming from a large keyboard I use primarily for gaming, it can take a little bit of getting used to. However, if you are used to laptops and smaller keyboard like this, or just have smaller hands, it will feel great to type on.
Looking at it, it is a black sleek design (white is also available) with a slightly thicker top to house some additional USB ports. The keys do not protrude out in any way making it very easy to slip into a bag or carry case. The only real colour on the keyboard is the enter key which is a blue, the only coloured key on the keyboard. Perhaps a welcome sight to the world where keyboards light up all sorts of colours.
Oficial dimensions are as follows:
Height: 6mm (21 mm at top)
Base: 285 x 162 mm
Weight:381g including 1.4m cable

Features/Performance:
The main Unique Selling Point of this keyboard is for people with busy and mobile lives, and I believe it would do so well. It’s small design also serves another purpose, and that’s to take strain off the wrists. It does so as you don’t have to reach or move your hands too much to use any of the keys. I do have pretty big hands, and to test it out properly, I had my girlfriend try it out, who has smaller hands. She says “It’s a very easy keyboard to type on. The keys are easily reachable and easy to press”

The flat and small design has been used before, so it isn’t entirely revolutionary. It is very similar to many other small keyboards of its type. The only difference is the keys bounce back and feel a lot better than the majority of laptops I have used. A “satisfying type”, is probably the best way I can describe it.

Being a gaming blog, of course, I had a go on Counter Strike with it. Now, I know this isn’t a gaming keyboard so this probably shouldn’t affect your decision much, but let’s get into it anyway. Fingers poised on WASD, I hit the shift key accidentally a lot. Something I don’t usually do. And when I wanted to hit it, it didn’t respond 100% of the time. It felt uncomfortable resting on WASD, very finicky, as the buttons go down VERY easily. However, take it with a pinch of salt as it never states it is a gaming keyboard or even attempt to be one, it is purely for typing, so don’t let this cloud your judgement.

Conclusion:
The C2 Mini Keyboard shows itself up front as a stylish and smart alternative to your everyday laptop keyboards. It won’t take up any space on your desk or in your bag. However, it’s ergonomics may be slightly questionable as it is very similar to a lot of other keyboards, and at a slightly higher price than most. Being wired it might not be able to replace your laptop keyboard, but it is great for a smaller desk. My final rating is a 7/10

Pros:
+Keys press very easy
+A satisfying type
+Straight forward and easy to use, plug the USB in and go

Cons:
-Ergonomics not entirely clear
-A touch more expensive than it’s competitors

(This keyboard was received free and for this reviews purpose, however, it has not affected the judgement or the outcome of the review in any way)
